Jason Demetriou has landed a new gig, appointed the head coach of the Westfields Sports High School rugby league program.
The 48-year-old was sacked by the South Sydney Rabbitohs earlier in 2024 but has remained active in the rugby league world.
He is currently coach of the PNG national team – a role he is set to remain in – and has regular media commitments.

Westfields Sports confirmed Demetriou’s appointment via social media:
“We are excited to announce that Jason Demetriou is heading the coaching staff at Westfields Sports High School Rugby League program,” the post read.
“With his wealth of experience and proven track record in the NRL, Jason brings invaluable expertise to our players, helping to shape the next generation of rugby league talent.
“Jason’s leadership and dedication to developing players will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build on the legacy of excellence at Westfields Sports.
“We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our program and student-athletes.”

Westfields Sports High School is a government-funded co-educational school based in Fairfield West.
Notable alumni who currently play in the NRL include Panthers forward Lindsay Smith, Storm recruit Stefano Utoikamanu, Sea Eagles speedster Jason Saab and gun Tigers half Lachlan Galvin.
