Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes discusses Labor’s gender pay gap legislation and how the “overall” average income of a female in Australia might be less due to circumstances surrounding family.
“There are reasons why overall the average income of a female in Australia might be less,” Ms Hughes told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
“We also know that more women tend to go into those caring roles.
“They don’t pay as much, as if you were an investment banker, or the partner of a law firm.
“It just seems that this government is just wedded to identity politics.”
